Rubber Mixer
Equipment
Granules need an even coat of binder before they go down. The RR80L gives every batch the same coat, and it shows in the finished surface.
In short
A rubber mixer coats EPDM rubber granules in resin binder on site before troweling. Resin Rubber supplies the RR80L, a forced-action mixer with a 1400 W brushless motor and a 55 L working capacity. A standard batch is 36 L of granules to 4 L of binder (9:1 by volume), mixed for 3 minutes.
Put in 36 L of EPDM granules and 4 L of Resin Rubber approved binder, a 9:1 ratio by volume. Pre-mix binder parts A and B before they go in. Mix for 3 minutes, counted from when the binder is added. Past 4 minutes the paddles start breaking the granules down, and a batch should never go over 45 L in total.
EPDM granules in HIG or PRO grade, Resin Rubber binder, and marble, quartz or granite aggregate. Never limestone aggregate, wet or unwashed material, unapproved solvents or petroleum-based cleaners. The full specifications are on the RR80L product page and in the Contractor Edition.
A forced-action mixer moves the granules through the binder with paddles instead of tumbling them, which gives a more even coating batch after batch. Uneven coating shows up as weak or patchy areas in the finished surface. Training covers mixer choice in detail.
Both dealer programs include a one-bag mixer, and the Pro Package business package includes a Baron F-120 mixer. See training and packages and dealer programs for the full lists.
